Zhitomir is a town with age-long Jewish tradition. A large number of Jews have always lived in our region. We are giving assistance to elderly people. Many of them are over 80. They have gone through hard times. They survived repression, wars and famine. We, a younger generation, cannot but admire their courage and strong will. Diseases, solitude as well as poverty make their life in old age unbearable. 
They badly need our care. We cannot possibly leave these people to the mercy of fate. Our site provides information on the activities of hesed.
